To ensure that we got to the airport in time, we allotted quite a bit of time to get back to Charleston for my flight at 2.30pm. We stopped for a breakfast in Myrtle Beach and then hit the road.
It was much faster and easier to get back, so we arrived at the airport by 11ish. My parents didn’t want to hassle with the rental and so they came to the airport early as well, so we got a couple more hours to hang out. Luckily, they were also put on an earlier flight, so they didn’t have to wait as long…
My flights were pretty smooth for the most part. I transferred in DC back to NYC’s JFK and then from there was on a 14.5 hour direct flight to AUH. While I understand that there aren’t a lot of options for taking children on flights, I do not think I would torture my child, myself or fellow passengers by taking infants or toddlers on such a long flight. There was constant crying, whining, or just plain old high-pitched child-like chatter going on…. It’s not the little ones’ fault by any means, but parents need to think this through a bit better!
Anyway, it’s good to be back home and with my honey again. Although I’m not quite ready to return to the working world just yet…
