One of my running buddies recommended this podcast to me one day as we were sharing our podcast interest. Since I am always looking for a bit of change in my podcasts due to my habitual nature, I thought this one sounded quite interesting.
I do not know exactly how to describe it, but the website makes it clearer. Mostly, they discuss social topics that may be related to the business world, self-help, or just about anthing really….

If you listen to an early podcast from this year (2017), then you can hear my voice as I did a shoutout when they requested listeners around the world to call in. First time for me to do something like that, but it was fun.

I am generally impressed with the editing of the podcasts as they incorporate a good number of pop culture references from movies, songs, etc. which I love given that it relates to my generation. 😜

Anyway, I am not a weekly listener just yet as I still tend to favor My Favorite Murder, but I do enjoy this podcast quite a bit especially for the medium-to-shortish drives around town. 👍🏽

Back when I did the Mindfulness Summit I came across Tami Simon through SoundsTrue.com, which offers courses, audios and books on spirituality, meditation or anything related to healing the mind and spirit.

Since then, I started listening to this podcast, which is Tami Simon speaking to spiritual leaders or those who are forging new understandings about how to heal the mind and body through spiritual training or psychological awareness.

I will have to admit that sometimes I have to avoid these podcasts when I am just driving around town as her interviews tend to require long journeys when I can focus completely on listening to fully benefit from the information. Short stints are difficult to jump back in to the topic – so in other words, this is a bit of an intellectually challenging podcast that I am not always up for nor have the time for. 🤓

However, for my trips to Dubai – like today – it was just right! 🙃

Definitely worth a listen!!

I am not quite sure how I came across this blogger, maybe when I first started Paleo and was looking for recipes, or maybe on Instagram. Who knows, but I love Julie Bauer and her blog Paleomg.com. Some might consider me a bit of a stalker as I follow her on every social media platform including Snapchat. I just find her refreshingly hilarious and straightforward.

So, as I follow her blog, it only made sense that I would also start to listen to her podcasts, which she has only just started – PaleOMG Uncensored.

It is called uncensored for a reason. She curses, she talks about all subjects freely, and the warning is in the title even though she often speaks about people complaining about her language or topics on occasion.

In any case, PaleOMG brings me laughs while I am driving or interesting thoughts about living healthy, eating well, working out or just enjoying life. I think Bauer has done a great job of going from a recipes site to a lifestyle blog adapting to the demands of social media and her followers.

Listening to her blog is great fun and I highly recommend her if you’re interested in health, food, and exercise. 😀

To say I am addicted to this podcast might be an understatement. I love ❤️ this podcast so much.

I cannot recall how I heard about it but most likely this was another Paleomg recommendation from her lists. When I heard the very first episode I was not sure about it as it was extremely difficult for me to follow who was speaking and their extremely random tangents of conversations. However, it only took me about two more episodes to be hooked.

My Favorite Murder makes driving and cooking so much fun. The two hosts are hilarious and witty whilst talking about very serious and sad topics. Their fascination with these true crime stories – whether well-known or small and local – matches my own.

I mean if you were not fascinated by the Jon Benet-Ramsey killing in the 1990’s then this is not the podcast for you. However, if you found yourself or still find yourself wondering at the truth, well then listen to this!!! 😅

Or what about Jack the Ripper stories or local crime stories…? Morbid fascinations about the stories of the criminals and their victims….😳😬

So this is my latest favorite way to pass the time in the car or the kitchen. I have not listened to all of the past episodes but am current on the latest ones. Will be catching up on the others soon, but need to keep the variety going with what gets inputted into my brain. 😜

More listening fun to come!

Just before the end of last year (yes just a few days ago), I made a list of my recent interest in podcasts.

While I do have some other topics to write on, I am saving them up for my focus next week…yep, I am getting a handle on planning my posts, even for here where no one knows really who is reading…. 😉

So, today I am going to write about Serial.

At the moment there are only two seasons and when you binge listen it makes it go really fast  through the seasons, but I admit that is exactly what I did. Now, I have to wait until spring for the next season or so the rumor says.

In any case, I got turned on to this podcast from the Paleomg.com blogger who I follow and love.

Season 1 looks at the case of Adnan Syed who was found guilty for the murder of an ex-girlfriend, Hae Man Lee, in Baltimore during his senior year of high school in 1999. Syed has claimed his innocence from the very beginning. The reporter, Sarah Koenig, speaks with Syed and looks into his case closely throughout the episodes.

I will not give away the ending here, but you can obviously Google it or check out the site link (above) if you are dying to know before you start. 😉 I was totally hooked on this season – even finding myself listening to episodes while cooking or finding reasons to do activities where I needed to listen to it! 😀

Season 2 was equally engaging, though less of a cliff-hanger as we start off knowing what happens for the most part. Still, Sarah Koenig looks at the story of Bowe Bergdhal, a U.S. soldier who walked away from his unit ending up captured and held by the Taliban in Afghanistan for five years. When his release was negotiated there was a great deal of controversy around it; thus this story.

These seasons are captivating like Netflix’s series on Making a Murderer or The Jinx. True crime seems to be increasing in popularity. Some might find our interest in such things as morbid or strange; however, I look at it from a psychological and sociological study of humanity in our current times. I am fascinated by them for sure – which is why the majority of the TV shows I do watch are all crime related….

In any case, I highly highly recommend this podcast and cannot wait for Season 3 to come out. Is it spring yet??!!!

One of the aspects of being self-employed and customer-oriented is that I spend more time in the car than before – or so it seems.

A while ago I decided to stop listening to the radio or much music in the car because it was agitating me even more than the usual driving stress that is inevitable on the roads here.

However, sometimes I do need to get out of my own head and for the long straight drives between Abu Dhabi, and just about anywhere else in this country, one needs a distraction.

So, here are some podcasts that I have gotten into lately. I might do a podcast posting series like I do with the books I read so I won’t go into detail on them. For now, it’s just a list and maybe you’ll want to check them out.

  • Serial
  • My Favorite Murder
  • Where There’s Smoke (I’m on the latest one!!)
  • PaleOMG Uncensored
  • Optimize Paleo by Paleovalley

These are the ones I listen to regularly. I’ve got some new ones lined up to check out soon so will add them to the list if I decide to follow them. 😁

More on these soon!
