I have become a cynic losing elements of my idealistic and romantic ways. Why? How? I am not really sure.
We do generally celebrate in some form this holiday of love, but I find the commercialism and need for people to broadcast their feelings to be somewhat…unreal. Like Christmas and other major holidays I hate being on Facebook and seeing people post about how they celebrate the holiday. Why do I need to know this? Why is it necessary to share this? I’m not judging, I’m curious. Then, again, the whole concept of Facebook is for another post (or probably I’ve already ranted about that before!).
In any case, tonight we will go out to a nice dinner and ‘celebrate’. I am lucky to have someone to love and who loves me. We keep each other sane in this crazy place and without R in my life I’d have left here or … who knows what I’d be doing now.
So…that’s as far as my mushiness goes for this holiday! ♥
