A: Aren’t you Japanese?
B: No, I am American.
A: Why do you look Japanese?
B: Because I am Asian, but I am American.
A: Do you speak Japanese?
B: Yes, I do.
A: Then, you must be Japanese.
B: I speak English, too. You speak English, does that make you American?
A: No, I am Japanese. I speak Japanese. Why do you speak Japanese?
B: Because I studied it in high school in America.
A: So, your family is Japanese?

B: No, no one in my family is Japanese. I am not Japanese. I am American.
A: So, where are you from?
